How Fill-to-the-Top Recipes Work
These recipes remove the need to precisely measure the water you add. Instead, measure the coffee, then simply “fill to the top” with water at each stage. Once finished, you’ll have a cold brew concentrate with an easy dilution ratio before serving, making it simple to mix, pour, and repeat.
-
1Add Your Coffee Grounds
Add the listed amount of ground coffee to your 64 oz mason jar.
-
2Fill to the Rim With Water
Add water until the jar is as full as it can be without overflowing, then cap the jar. The grounds absorb water and the level settles as it starts to steep.
-
3Steep, Then Filter
Let the coffee steep for 12–24 hours. Then use the JARVA system to filter the cold brew into the second jar. This produces your initial concentrate.
-
4Fill to Top With Water Again
After filtering, add water to the concentrate again until the jar is filled back to the neck. This sets the final recipe strength and gives you an easy-to-understand dilution ratio for serving.
-
5Dilute to Drink
When you’re ready to serve, mix the concentrate with water or milk using each recipe’s recommended dilution to reach your final drinking strength — then pour over ice.
Choose Your Recipe
Pick by how much coffee you want to use — stronger recipes brew a concentrate you dilute to taste before serving.
